Does Origin Foundation support fundraising activities?

The Origin Foundation supports employee fundraising activities. These activities are not the responsibility of the Origin Foundation but any donations from employees will be matched when made to eligible charities.

How can I get other employees to donate on my fundraising page?

Communication to immediate team members and colleagues is encouraged, but we ask you not to send an email to an entire business unit or office. Donating money to charity is a very personal decision, and you should avoid approaching people directly.

Ask your team or colleagues to sponsor you by simply sharing the link to your page. Employees who are not already donating via Good Company will need to complete a quick registration page prior to making a donation. Contractors may donate via credit card, but these donations will not be matched by Origin Foundation.

We would prefer to review any communications that mention Origin Foundation before they are sent.

What is a fundraising page?

A fundraising page is a special webpage with a URL that you can use to support a charity or cause. It’s just like an online collection tin, except your colleagues can donate with their pre-tax pay.

You can support or start a fundraiser for any charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1 status. All charities included on the Good Company website comply with this requirement.

Anyone who makes a donation to your fundraiser can also leave a message of support.

What can I fundraise for?

The fundraising pages allow you to get support from your team or colleagues for specific charity events. Provided the charity is included on the Good Company website, you can set-up a fundraiser to support the event and ask your colleagues to sponsor you with a pre-tax donation.

For example, you could fundraise for causes like the Nepal Earthquake Appeal, Cyclone Pam Vanuatu Appeal or as part of an event such as Movember or City2Surf.

How do I set up a fundraiser?

To set up a fundraiser, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log onto the Origin - Good Company website.
  2. Select your name in the top right hand corner.
    • Select ‘fundraising’ in the left hand navigation.
    • Select ‘add’ on the fundraising page.
    • Complete the details of the fundraising form.

If you wish to raise money for a charity not listed on the Good Company website, email info@originfoundation.com.au and we will approach the charity on your behalf, provided they have the required status Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1 status.

Yes. Simply set up your fundraising page on Origin Give 2 and automatically you'll have functionality that enables 'family and friends' to support your efforts. Share the Origin Give2 fundraising page URL with your network, and your family and friends will be able to donate with their credit card by clicking on the 'family and friends' button (this button only visible to Origin staff when you're not logged in).
